Trade secret denotes to information relating to the business which is not known to the public and which the owner rationally attempts to keep secret. However, confidentiality can be termed as any information with limitations placed on the communication or dissemination of that information.

Though there is no such legislation in India that specifically deals with the Trade Secret's however, the courts follow the laws and principle of equity for its protection. There are multiple remedies that have been granted for the owner's of trade secrets.
